This is a complete live piano rehearsal track for "We're All From Some Place Else" from the 2025 Rupert Holmes adaptation of Pirates! The Penzance Musical, originally composed by Arthur Sullivan with lyrics by W.S. Gilbert. A New Orleans jazz finale replacing the traditional operetta ending, this ensemble piece is a fantastic choice for musical theater showcases, collegiate scene studies, and energetic choral performances.
For this 2025 Broadway adaptation, Rupert Holmes reimagined the famous "For he is an Englishman" aria (from an entirely different G&S operetta, HMS Pinafore!) to give a little modern satire flair to the finale. The original melody is still recognizable under the hood, but arranger Joseph Joubert transformed it into a block party that perfectly wraps up the updated New Orleans setting for the show.
