This is a great piece to mention a concept that you probably are already aware of, but makes the ensemble in this easier once you've internalized the idea: Generally speaking, when piano is rolling chords, \"time\" starts when the final note of a rolled chord is played. In earlier eras of music or brisker pieces that we want to stay in time, we 'steal' a little time BEFORE the beat so that the final top note of a rolled chord is played right ON the beat.
